UEFA Champions League Qualifying: Stoppage-Time Goals Rescue Game-One Home Win For FC Bate

The second qualifying round for the upcoming UEFA Champions League continued on Wednesday with the opening contest of each of six two-game series.

At Borisov, Belarus:

Vitali Rodionov (90'+2) and Marko Simic (90'+4) each scored a goal in second-half stoppage time, and combined with Dmitri Mozolevski's tally in the 42nd minute, guided FC BATE Borisov to a 3-2 come-from-behind home victory over Vardar in the opening contest of their two-game series.  However, the Macedonian club's chances of advancing remained alive thanks to goals from Jovan Kostovski (54') and Ostoja Stjepanovic (62').

At Limassol, Cyprus:


Dijilly Vouho (16'), Edwin Ouon (30'), and Chris Dickson (54') each tallied once as AEL Limassol dominated visiting Linfield 3-0 in the opening contest of their two-match series.

At Maribor, Slovenia:


Robert Beric scored twice (47', 76') as Maribor dominated visiting Zeljeznicar 4-1 in their series opener.

At Razgrad, Bulgaria:


A last-gasp stoppage-time goal from Ante Rukavina (90'+2) enabled Dinamo Zagreb to gain a 1-1 game-one road deadlock with Ludogorets.  Marcelinho scored in the 67th minute for the Bulgarian club.

At Molde, Norway:


Davy Claude Angan delivered a second-half double (53', 83') as FK Molde dominated visiting FK Ventspils 3-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.

At Podgorica, Montenegro:


WKS Slask Wroclaw from Poland got their two-match series with FK Buducnost Podgorica off to a flying start with their game-one 2-0 road win, thanks to goals from Rok Elsner (19') and Sebastian Mila (PK-49').
