MLS: Red Bulls, Goats, TFC, Impact, Dynamo, Quakes Win; Galaxy And Caps Draw In Vancouver

Seven games were played in Major League Soccer on Wednesday.


At Harrison, New Jersey:


Thierry Henry scored the only goal of the match in the 71st minute as the New York Red Bulls defeated the visiting Chicago Fire 1-0.


At Carson, California:


Miller Bolanos scored the only goal of the match in the 16th minute as Chivas USA defeated the visiting Portland Timbers (still winless on the road) 1-0.


At Toronto:


Ryan Johnson (51') and Andrew Wiedeman (66') each delivered a goal as Toronto FC came from behind and upended the visiting Colorado Rapids 2-1.  It was the Reds' third straight victory.


At Montreal:


Sanna Nyassi scored the winning goal in the 67th minute as the Montreal Impact downed the visiting New England Revolution 2-1.


At Houston:


Calen Carr scored twice (25', 79') as the Houston Dynamo defeated visiting Sporting Kansas City 2-1.


At Vancouver, British Columbia:


David Beckham (81') and Jose Villareal (87') each scored a goal late in the second half as the Los Angeles Galaxy came back from a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 road draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps, whose goals came courtesy of Gershon Koffie (18') and Barry Robson (27')


At Santa Clara, California:


Marvin Chavez (12') and Alan Gordon (45') provided the scoring as the San Jose Earthquakes held off visiting FC Dallas 2-1.  After Hernan Pertuz put the Hoops on the scoreboard in the 89th minute, Jair Benitez had a chance to tie things up during second-half stoppage time, only to see his penalty kick sail over the crossbar.
