Fred produced a natural hat trick (18', 22', 31') as Cruzeiro demolished visiting Huracan 4-0.



GROUP C:

At Lima, Peru:

Cristian Palacios (31') and Omar Merlo (34') each scored a first-half goal three minutes apart as Sporting Cristal blanked visiting Universidad de Concepcion 2-0.
