AFC Champions League

Group-stage play in the AFC Champions League resumed on Monday with four games.

GROUP A:

At Dubai, United Arab Emirates:

Amir Motahari scored the winning goal in the 35th minute as Zob Ahan knocked off Al-Wasl 3-1 on the road.

At Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

Abdullah Al Salem (PK-24'), Yahya Al Shehri (29'), Omar Hawsawi (59'), and Giuliano Victor De Paula (90'+4) each scored once as Al-Nassr dominated visiting Al-Zawraa 4-1.

Group A Standings:

1. Zob Ahan (GP: 3; GD: +3; PTS: 7)
2. Al-Zawraa (GP: 3; GD: +2; PTS: 4)
3. Al-Wasl (GP: 3; GD: -6; PTS: 3)
4. Al-Nassr (GP: 3; GD: +1; PTS: 3)

NOTE:  Al-Wasl defeated Al-Nassr at home on March 4.



GROUP C:

At Doha, Qatar:

Jamal Maroof (36') and Marcus Berg (58') delivered the goals that enabled Al-Ain to come back from down two goals to gain a 2-2 road draw with Al-Duhail.

Karim Boudiaf (9') and Youssef El-Arabi (32') each scored once for the Qatari club.


At Doha, Qatar (due to deteriorating relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia):

Pejman Montazeri scored the winning goal as Iran's Esteghlal defeated Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal 2-1.

Group C Standings:

1. Al-Hilal (GP: 3; GD: +2; PTS: 6)
2. Al-Duhail (GP: 3; GD: +1; PTS: 4)
3. Esteghlal (GP: 3; GD: -2; PTS: 4)
4. Al-Ain (GP: 3; GD: -1; PTS: 2)

NOTE:  Al-Duhail defeated visiting Esteghlal 3-0 on March 5.
