AFC Champions League

Group-stage play in the AFC Champions League continued on Tuesday with eight games.

GROUP A:

At Karbala, Iraq:

Nawaf Al Farshan's goal at the death (90'+8) carried Al-Nassr to a 2-1 road victory over Al-Zawraa.

At Isfahan, Iran:

Alireza Cheraghali (2') and Amir Motahari (15') each scored once in the first quarter-hour as Zob Ahan blanked visiting al-Wasl 2-0.

At Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (due to deteriorating relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran):

Sebastian Giovinco (remember him, Toronto FC fans?) scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute as Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal defeated Iran's Esteghlal.

At Al Ain, United Arab Emirates:

Almoez Ali (3') and Youssef El-Arabi (66') each scored once as Al-Duhail blanked Al-Ain 2-0 on the road.

Group C Standings:

Huang Bowen's goal in the 24th minute helped carry Guangzhou Evergrande to a 1-1 road draw with the Melbourne Victory.

Jai Emile Ingham scored for the hosts (who were eliminated from the tournament) in the 26th minute.

At Daegu, South Korea:

Hayato Araki's goal in the 34th minute carried Sanfrecce Hiroshima to a 1-0 road win over Daegu FC.

At Kawasaki, Japan:

Yu Kobayashi (8') and Kei Chinen (82') each scored once to carry Kawasaki Frontale to a 2-2 home draw with Ulsan Hyundai.

Park Yong-woo (17') and Junior Negrao (31') each scored once for the South Korean club.

At Shanghai, China:

Brandon O'Neill (33') and Adam Le Fondre (62') each scored once as Sydney FC gained a 2-2 road draw with Shanghai SIPG to keep their flickering hopes of advancing to the knockout stage alive.

Elkeson de Oliveira Cardoso (47') and Senchao Wang (59') each scored once for the hosts.

Group H Standings:
