MLS: Saturday Wins For Fire, Philly, Lions, Hoops, Timbers, Revs, Quakes

Seven games were on the Major League Soccer Saturday schedule.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

C.J. Sapong scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 53rd minute as the Chicago Fire dominated the visiting Colorado Rapids 4-1.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Corey Burke (14'), Jamiro Monteiro (PK-45'), and Alejandro Bedoya (57') delivered the goals that propelled the Philadelphia Union to a 3-0 home beatdown of the Montreal Impact.

At Orlando, Florida:

Sacha Kljestan came through late for Orlando City as his goal in the 88th minute lifted the Lions past the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0.

At Atlanta:

Jesus Ferreira (6') and Bryan Acosta (84') each scored once as FC Dallas held off hosts Atlanta United 2-1.

At Columbus, Ohio:

Larrys Mabiala (31'), Jeremy Ebobisse (35'), and Jorge Moreira (90'+1) each scored once as the Portland Timbers snapped winless and losing streaks of six and five games respectively by knocking off the Columbus Crew 3-1 on the road for their first win of the season.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Cristian Penilla scored the game's lone goal in the 73rd minute as the New England Revolution defeated the visiting New York Red Bulls 1-0.

At San Jose, California:

Danny Hoesen scored twice (6', 12) as the San Jose Earthquakes dominated visiting Sporting Kansas City 4-1.
