Barca Knocked Off On The Road

Eight games were contested Sunday in Spain's Premier Division:

At Valencia:

Miguel Angulo (52') and David Silva (55') contributed second-half goals to help Valencia hold-off league-leading FC Barcelona 2-1 at home.

At Seville:

Frederic Kanoute's double (15', 73') helped lead FC Sevilla to a 3-1 home win over Atletico Madrid.

At Bilbao:

Aritz Aduriz scored both goal's (30', 50') in Athletic Bilbao's 2-0 home win over Getafe as the Red-Whites continue their fight for top-flight survival.

At Santander:

Four different goal scorers propelled Racing Santander to a decisive 4-1 home win over basement-dwelling and hapless Gimnastic de Tarragona.

At La Coruna:

Visiting Lavante, which is fighting to stay above the drop zone, battled midtable Deportivo La Coruna to a 0-0 stalemate.

At Huelva:

European hopefuls Recreativo Huelva, thanks to Beto's 49th-minute tally, defeated relegation-threatened Real Sociedad 1-0 at home.

At Barcelona:

Luis Garcia tallied twice (29', 79') to help lead Espanyol to a 3-1 home triumph over Mallorca.

At Pamplona:

Fernando Baiano scored the lone goal (2') in Celta Vigo's 1-0 road win at Osasuna's expense.
