Home Wins For Latics, Rovers, and Spurs

Three games were contested Sunday in the English Premier League:

At Wigan:

Ryan Taylor scored the game's only goal (40') as Wigan Athletic defeated visiting Newcastle United at home 1-0 to move six points clear of the relegation zone. The game was Paul Jewell's 250th league game as the Latics' head coach, making him the longest serving manager in the club's history. At Blackburn:

Shabani Nonda's double (1', 25') helped propel Blackburn Rovers to a 3-0 thumping of visiting Portsmouth.

At London:

Two goals from Robbie Keane (11', 22') helped lead Tottenham Hotspur to a decisive 4-1 triumph over Bolton.
