Benfica Up To Second Place

Four games were played Sunday in Portugal's Super Liga:

At Madeira:

Fabrizio Miccoli's second-half double (61', 70') powered SL Benfica to a 2-0 road win over CD Nacional. The win boosted the Eagles into second place in the BWIN Liga standings, overtaking Sporting Club Portugal.

At Leiria:

Bartosz Slusarski scored the dramatic only goal (90') to lift Uniao Leiria to a 1-0 home win over Sporting Braga.

At Vila das Aves:

Cellar-dwelling Deportivo Aves and European hopeful guests Maritimo settled for a 1-1 stalemate.

At Amadora:

Late first-half goals from Antonin Alcaraz (40') and Edgar da Silva (45') propelled relegation-threatened Beira Mar to a 2-2 road draw with Estrela Amadora after falling behind 2-0.
