Inter Winning Streak Snapped

Ten games were played Wednesday in Italy's Serie A:

At Milan:

Udinese ended Inter Milan's seventeen-game league winning streak by holding the hosts to a 1-1 draw. Christian Obodo scored at 47 minutes to give the visiting Bionconeri a 1-0 lead before Hernan Crespo equalized at 66 minutes for The Nerozzurri.

At Verona:

Francesco Totti's double (34', 48') enabled AS Roma to bounce back from a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 road deadlock with Chievo Verona:

At Ascoli:

In a battle of the bottom two teams in the Serie A standings, Parma and las-place Ascoli battled to a 0-0 stalemate.

At Palermo:

Sixth-place AC Milan and third-place Palermo battled to a 0-0 draw in Sicily.

At Turin:

In a battle of struggling clubs who hired new coaches this week, Torino won for new coach Gianni De Biasi 1-0 over guests Cagliari Calcio (and their new head coach Marco Giampaolo), thanks to Cesare Bovo's tally at 23 minutes.

At Reggio Calabria:

Adrian Mutu's successful penalty kick at 87 minutes lifted Fiorentina to a 1-1 road draw with struggling Reggina.

At Empoli:

Luca Saudati's double (14', 62') helped propel hosts Empoli to a 3-1 win over relegation-threatened (and 10-man) Messina 3-1. For The Azzurri, it was their fifth straight home victory.

At Genoa:

Thanks to goals from Fabio Bazzani (71') and Sergio Volpi (PK-83'), Sampdoria came from behind to defeat visiting Atalanta 2-1.

At Rome:

With goals from Goran Pandev (60'), Sebastiano Siviglia (88'), and Tommaso Rocchi (90'), Lazio stayed in fourth place in the Serie A standings following their 3-1 home win over Catania Calcio.

At Siena:

Livorno and Siena played to a 0-0 deadlock. For the hosts, it was their fifth straight league game without a win.
