Reds Stun Barca; All Other Wednesday CL Matchups Stalemated


Opening leg action in Round of 16 UEFA Champions League play concluded Wednesday:

At Barcelona:

Goals from Craig Bellamy (43') and John Arne Riise, pictued here (© AFP) (74'), paced Liverpool to a come-from-behind 2-1 road victory over defending cupholders FC Barcelona in the opening game of the clubs' two-game home-and
-away total-goals set.

At Rome:

At Porto:


In the series opener for both clubs, guests Chelsea and FC Porto battled to a 1-1 draw. Raul Meireles scored in the 12th minute to give

Two priceless away goals netted visiting Valencia a 2-2 series opening road draw against Inter Milan. David Silva (pictured here, © AFP) delivered the late equalizer (86') for the visitors.
