Peter Lovenkrands scored twice (20', 73') as FC Schalke 04 took sole possession of first place in the Bundesliga standings following their 2-0 road win over Werder Bremen.
At Dortmund:
Mario Gomez scored the lone goal (59') as VfB Stuttgart tightened their hold on third place in the league standings by beating hosts Borussia Dortmund 1-0.
