Lyon Back On Winning Track

Eight games were played Saturday in France's Ligue 1:

At Lyon:

Fred scored the lone goal of the match (8') as Lyon snapped out of their 2007 funk with a 1-0 win over visiting Lorient.

At Paris:

Two goals during each half lifted Paris Saint Germain to a 4-2 home win over AS Monaco in their fight to avoid relegation.

At Nantes:

Steve Savidan's Hat Trick (18', 72', 88') helped power Valenciennes to a convincing 5-2 road triumph over Nantes.

At Auxerre:

Matt Moussilou's equalizer (75') lifted St. Etienne to a 1-1 road deadlock with AJ Auxerre.

At Nice:

In a battle between two clubs fighting to avoid relegation, Nice picked up a nice 3-0 home win over Troyes. Lilian Laslandes scored twice 45', 58') for the hosts.

At Le Mans:

Goals from Mamadou Samassa (14') , Romaric Koffi (67') , and Grafite (73') enabled homestanding Le Mans to hold off basement-occupying Sedan 3-2.

At Rennes:

John Utaka's 87th-minute equalizer enabled Rennes to gain a 1-1 home stalemate with AS Nancy Lorraine.

At Toulouse:

Thanks to an own goal in second-half stoppage time from Lille's Gregory Tafforeau, Toulouse picked up a 1-0 home win at the Mastiffs' expense.
