NOTES:

Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen directly qualified for the group stage of the 2011-12 UEFA Champions League while Bayern Munich qualified for the Champions League's playoff round.

Hannover 96 and Schalke (who won the 2010-11 DFB-Pokal [German Cup]) qualified for the playoff round for group stage berths in the 2011-12 Europa League while FSV Mainz o5 qulified for the Europa League's third qualifying round.

Eintracht Frankfurt and St. Pauli were directly relegated to 2. Bundesliga while Borussia Monchengladbach won their two-game promotion-relegation playoff series with VfL Bochum from the second division 2-1 on aggregate to stay in the top flight.

Hertha BSC Berlin and FC Augsburg won promotion to the top flight.
