Final Standings: Swiss Super League

Here's a rundown of the final standings for the recently concluded Swiss Super League season:

3. BSC Young Boys (GP: 36: GD: +15; PTS: 57)
4. FC Sion (GP: 36; GD: +11; PTS: 54)
5. FC Thun (GP: 36; GD: +5; PTS: 49)
6. FC Lucerne (GP: 36; GD: +5; PTS: 48)
7. GRASSHOPPER CLUB ZURICH (GP: 36; GD: -9; PTS: 41)
8. Neuchatel Xamax (GP: 36; GD: -23; PTS: 32)
9. Bellinzona (GP: 36; GD: -33; PTS: 32)

NOTES:

Due to the winners of 2010-11 UEFA Champions League, Barcelona, having qualified for the 2011-12 UEFA Champions League group stage via their domestic leagues and the subsequent vacation of the title holder spot, Basel as Swiss champions were moved up from the third qualification round into the group stage.  FC Zurich will take part in the Champions League's thrid qualifying round.

Young Boys (third qualifying round) , Sion  (playoff round, having won the Swiss Cup) , and Thun (second qualifying round) will take part in qualifying rounds for the 2011-12 Europa League.

St. Gallen were directly relegated to the Swiss Challenge League. Bellinzona lost their two-game promotion/relegation playoff series with Servette FC 3-2 on aggregate and were also relegated as a result.  Servette will join FC Lausanne-Sport in the top flight next season.
