CONCACAF Champions League: Hoops, Morelia, Motagua Take Series Openers

The last three two-game series in the CONCACAF Champions League's preliminary round got under way on Thursday.


At Morelia, Mexico:


Five different goal scorers----Joel Huiqui (15'), Migueal Sabah (PK-63'), Joao Rojas (67'), Angel Sepulveda (70'), and Jaime Lozano (76')----each entered the scoreboard as Morelia blasted visiting Tempete 5-0.


At San Salvador, El Salvador:


Jackson Govcalves scored the only goal of the match at 70 minutes as FC Dallas topped Alianza FC 1-0 on the road in their series opener.


At Tegucigalpa, Honduras:


Motagua horsewhipped visiting Municipal 4-0 in game one.  Jerry Bengston (40'), Odis Orlando Borjas Valencia (57'), Amado Guevara (69'), and Mario Ivan Guerrero (73') each scored once for the Honduran club.
