US Open Cup: Fire Turn Red Bulls Into Hamburger; Richmond, FC Dallas Also Advance To Semis

Three of the four match that make up the quarterfinal round of the US Open Cup took place on Tuesday.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

Orr Barouch scored twice in the second half (52', 69') as the Chicago Fire scorched the visiting New York Red Bulls (who, in fairness, were using a reserve-laden squad) 4-0.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

The Richmond Kickers from the USL Pro Division knocked off Sporting Kansas City 2-0 on the road to advance to the semifinal round.  Shaka Bangura (66') and David Bulow (PK-83') each provided a second-half goal for the lone remaining non-Major League Soccer club left in the tournament.  The game was delayed after 65 minutes for more than an hour because of lightning.

At Frisco, Texas:

Jair Benitez (18') and Jackson Goncalves (64') each tallied once as FC Dallas blanked visiting Real Salt Lake 2-0.
