Europa League Qualifying

The second round of qualifying for the Europa League concluded on Thursday with the second contest of each of the forty two-game series.


At Pavlodar, Kazakhstan:

Irakli Kobalia (23') and Irakli Modebadze (57') each scored once as Metalurgist Rustavi took game two 2-0 on the road and eliminated Irtysh Pavlodar 3-1 on aggregate.


At Yerevan, Armenia:

With Freddy dos Santos scoring the long goal of the match at 49 minutes, Valeranga notched a second 1-0 on Mika FC, this time on the road, and won the two-game series 2-0 on aggregate.


At Medias, Romania:

Thanks to goals from Ciprian Petre (36') and Ovidiu Hoban (53'), GS Gaz Metan Medias overturned their 1-0 road defeat from last week and defeated KuPS 2-0 in game two at home and won their two-match series 2-1 on aggregate.


At Novi Sad, Serbia:

Moreno Merenda scored twice (78', 90'+7) as FC Vaduz recovered from their 2-0 home defeat of last week with a 3-1 road win in game two on the road against FK Vojvodina and, with the score at 3-3 on aggregate, won the series on away goals.


At Ventspils, Latvia:

Maki Mvondo scored twice (52', PK-79') as FK Ventspils defeated visiting FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk 3-2 in game two and finished off the Belarussian club 4-2 on aggregate.


At Lankaran, Azerbaijan:

A 0-0 game-two road draw against Xazar Lankaran proved good enough for Maccabi Tel Aviv as the Israeli club won their two-game series 3-1 on aggregate.
 
At Tallinn, Estonia:

Philippe  Lebresne scored the only goal of the match (and series) at 32 minutes as FC Differdange 03 knocked off FC Levadia 1-0 in game two on the road and won the series by that same score on aggregate.


At Boras, Sweden:

David Elm (26'), Andreas Augustsson (58'), and Niklas Hult (67') each scored once as Elfsborg dominated visiting Suduva 3-0 in game two and won their two-game series 4-1 on aggregate.


At Tiraspol, Moldova:

A 0-0 draw on the road in game two enabled FK Zeljeznicar to arrest FC Sheriff 1-0 on aggregate.

At Aktobe, Kazakhstan:

A 0-0 draw at home proved good enough for FK Aktobe as they took their two match series with Hungary's Kecskemet on away goals, with the score at 1-1 on aggregate.


At Vantaa, Finland:

With apologies to Derek Taylor, John Chibuike (42') and Daniel Forsell (85') each tallied once as BK Hacken blanked FC Honka 2-0 on the road in game two and two their two-match series 3-0 on aggregate.


At Baku, Azerbaijan:

A 0-0 draw in game two against visiting EB/Streymur enabled FK Qarabag, with the two-game score at 1-1 on aggregate, eliminate their Faroese opponents on away goals.


At Tel Aviv, Israel:

Nenad Marinkovic (16') and Pedro Galvin (89') provided the goalpower as Bnei Yehuda racked up a second successive 2-0 win over visiting UE Sant Julia and took out the Andorran club 4-0 on aggregate.


At Varazdin, Croatia:

Davor Vugrinec scored twice (14', 70') as Varazdin defeated visiting Iskra-Stal 3-1 in game two and won the series 3-1 on aggregate.


At Poltava, Ukraine:

Ahmed Januzi scored twice (33', 73') as FC Vorskla Poltava dominated visiting Glentoran 3-0 in game two and finished off the club from Northern Ireland 5-0 on aggregate.


At Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina:

After last week's scoreless opener in Sweden, and a scoreless opening half in game two, Nermin Haskic scored twice (47', 62') as FK Sarajevo blanked visiting Orebro 2-0 in both the second contest and the series on aggregate to advance to the third qualifying round.


At Tbilisi, Georgia:

Xisco tallied twice (7', 51') as Dinamo Tbilisi overcame their 2-1 road defeat of last week and demolished visiting Llanelli 5-0 in game two and won their series 6-2 on aggregate.


At Larnaca, Cyprus:

In the second game of a series that already had been pretty much decided, Kyriakos Pavlou scored the lone goal of the contest at 26 minutes as AEK Larnaca defeated visiting Floriana 1-0 and took the series rather handily, 9-0 on aggregate.


At Trnava, Slovakia:

Following a scoreless series opener, Ladislav Tomacek scored twice (41', PK-85') as Spartak Trnava defeated visiting KF Tirana 3-1 in game two and won the series by that same score on aggregate.


At Alesund, Norway:

With goals from Michael Barrantes (PK-72') and Lars Fuhre (87') in regulation, forcing the two-match series to be deadlocked at 3-3 on aggregate, Sander Post scored the series-winning goal near the end of the second overtime period (119') as Aalesund defeated visiting Ferencvaros 4-3 on aggregate to advance.


At Wals-Siezenheim, Austria:

A 0-0 deadlock at home in game two was more than good enough for FC Red Bull Salzburg as the Austrian club eliminated Liepajas Metalurgs 4-1 on aggregate.


At Zestafoni, Georgia:

Despite dropping a 2-0 decision on the road in game two to FC Gagra, Anorthosis Famagusta FC still won their two-game series 3-2 on aggregate.


At Tromso, Norway:

Tamas Kiss scored twice in the second half (59', 77') as Tromso IL kissed their European campaign goodbye as Paksi SE took game two 3-0 on the road in their series 4-1 on aggregate.


At Herning, Denmark:

Jude Nworuh tallied twice (24', 52') as FC Midtjylland had no trouble with The New Saints, taking game two 5-2 on the road and won their two-game series 8-3 on the road.


At Sofia, Bulgaria:

Scoring, absent in the opening contest in Macedonia, came with a vengance in game two, as Lokomotiv Sofia, whose Vordanov Preslav scored twice (PK 57', 85'), held off visiting Metalurg Skopje 3-2 to win the series by that same score on aggregate.


At Zilina, Slovakia:

Despite dropping a 2-0 decision on the road to MSK Zilina in game two, KR Reykjavik still advanced to the third qualifying round as they won their two-game series 3-2 on aggregate.


At Thun, Switzerland:

All the scoring in this two-match affair took place in game two.  Milaim Rama (89') and Benjamin Luthi (90'+2) scored in the final minutes as FC Thun came from behind to overtake visiting FK Vllaznia 2-1 both in the game and in the series on aggregate.


At Gazientep, Turkey:

Emre Gungor (28'), Wagner (73'), Ivelin Popov (83'), and Olcan Adin (90'+1) each distributed a goal as Gazientepspor defeated visiting FC Minsk 4-1 in game two and won their two-game series 5-2 on aggregate.


At The Hague, Netherlands:

With Jens Toornstra (45'+1) and Tjaronn Chery (80') registering themselves on the scoreboard, ADO Den Haag blanked visiting Tauras 2-0 in game two and took out the Lithuanian club 5-2 on aggregate.


At Skopje, Macedonia:

FK Rabotnicki, with tallies from Borce Manevski (35'), Filip Petkovski (50'), and Milovan Petrovic (56'), dominated visiting Juvenes/Dogana 3-0 in game two to win their two-match set 4-0 on aggregate.


At Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic:

Jan Kovarik (25', 70') and Karel Pitak (30', 61') each scored twice as FK Jablonec overpowered visiting Flamurtari 5-1 in game two and took out the Albanian club 7-1 on aggregate.


At Volos, Greece:

Juan Martin's successful penalty kick at 79 minutes proved to be the series winner as Olympiacos Volou gained a 1-1 home draw with FK Rad in game two and won their two-game series 2-1 on aggregate.


At Westerlo, Belgium:

A 0-0 stalemate at home in game two with TPS Turku of Finland was good enough for KVC Westerlo as they won their two-game series 1-0 on aggregate.


At London:

Andrew Johnson (19'), Damien Duff (56'), Bobby Zamora (66'), and Steve Sidwell (70') each scored a goal as Fulham clobbered visiting Crusaders in game two and finished off the Northern Irish club 7-1 on aggregate.


At Dugopolje, Croatia:

RNK Split, with tallies courtesy of Duje Cop (47'), Velimir Vidic (72'), and Goran Milovic (85'), all in the second half, defeated visiting Domzale 3-1 in game two and won their two-match series 5-2 on aggregate.


At Dublin, Ireland:

Gerard O'Brien's own goal at 81 minutes helped sealed Bohemians' fate in game two as their home match with Olimpija Ljubljana ended in a 1-1 deadlock, enabling the Slovenian club to win their two-game series 3-1 on aggregate.


At Dundee, Scotland:

WKS Slask Wroclaw, despite dropping a 3-2 game-two decision on the road to Dundee United, still won their two-match series (with the score 3-3 on aggregate) on away goals.  Rok Elsner (15') and Sebastian Dudek (74') each tallied once for the Polish club as they advanced to the third qualifying round.


At Dublin, Ireland:

Thanks to goals from Evan McMillan (14') and Derek Doyle (70'), St. Patrick's Athletic overturned their 2-1 defeat in Kazakhstan from last week as they defeated visiting FC Shakhter Karagandy 2-0 in game two and won their two-match series 3-2 on aggregate.


At Funchal, Portugal:

With Luis Alberto (55') and Daniel Candeias (90') each scoring once, CD Nacional blanked visiting FH Hafnarfjordur 2-0 in game two and finished off the Icelandic club 3-1 on aggregate.


At Vienna, Austria:

With Nacer Barazite (44') and Tomas Jun (75') each tallying once, Austria Vienna blanked visiting FK Rudar Pljevjla 2-0 in game two and eliminated the club from Montenegro 5-0 on aggregate.
