AUCKLAND CITY WINS OFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CROWN AFTER PK THRILLER

At Suva, Fiji:

Auckland City (with Joao Moreira scoring in the 14th minute) and Team Wellington (with Ian Hogg equalizing at 79 minutes) battled to a 1-1 regulation draw in Sunday's OFC Champions League final.  After 30 minutes of scoreless overtime, Marko Dordevic, Adam McGeorge, David Browne, and Kim Dae-wook converted their spot kicks as the defending champs----Auckland City, that is-----defeated the club from New Zealand's capital city 4-3 in the penalty-kick shootout and won their 7th OFC club title, their fifth in a row.  Auckland City (that's them celebrating with the Champions League trophy after their victory) will play in December's FIFA Club World Cup, set to be played in Japan.

Last year, Auckland City finished third in the FIFA Club World Cup that took place in Morocco.
