Copa Libertadores

Group-stage play in the Copa Libertadores continued on Wednesday with four contests.

GROUP THREE:

At Buenos Aires:

Miguel Suarez delivered the equalizer in the 39th minute as Universitario gained a 1-1 road draw with Club Atletico Huracan.  Ramon Abila scored for the hosts in the 34th minute.

At Belo Horizonte, Brazil:

Giorgian de Arrascaeta (13'), Leandro Damiao (15'), and Henrique Pacheco de Lima (73') each scored once as Cruzeiro dominated visiting Mineros de Guayana 3-0.

Group Three Standings:

2. Universitario (GP: 4; GD: +1; PTS: 6)

GROUP SIX:

At San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico:

Teofilo Gutierrez (87') and Rodrigo Mora (90') delivered the late goals three minutes apart, lifting River Plate to a 2-2 road draw with Tigres.  Egidio Arevalo (12') and Damian Alvarez (69') each scored a goal for the hosts, who clinched top spot in Group Six.

At San Cristobal, Venezuela:

Deportivo Táchira and visiting  Sporting Cristal battled to a 0-0 stalemate, eliminating the Venezuelan club from the tournament and clinching a knockout-stage berth for Racing Club of Argentina.
