It's A French Eight-Pack

Eight games were played Saturday in France's Ligue 1:

At Sedan:

Here's something that has been a microcosm of why Sedan is at the bottom of the Ligue 1 standings: Substitute Nadjim Abdou scored the only goal of their home match with league leaders Lyon in the 75th minute--for the wrong team. This 1-0 result permitted the five-time defending champs to stretch their league lead to 12 points.

At Sochax:

Visiting Lille and Sochaux battled to a 0-0 draw.

At Paris:

Bordeaux, on goals from Wendel (28') and Lilian Laslandes (87'), blanked Paris Saint Germain on the road 2-0.

At Nancy:

Sebastien Puygrenier provided all the scoring with his 76th-minute goal to lift homestanding AS Nancy Lorraine to a 1-0 win over Troyes.

At Rennes:

10-man Rennes salvaged a point with a 1-1 home draw with Le Mans. Sylvain Marveaux provided the equalizer in the 89th minute.

At Lens:

Adama Coulibaly (1') and Seydou Keita (83') provided the scoring as Lens racked up a 2-0 home victory over Nantes.

At Monte Carlo:

Jeremy Menez provided the game-tying tally in the 50th minute, lifting AS Monaco to a 2-2 home draw with Lorient.

At St. Etienne:

St. Etienne, thanks to first-half goals from Frederic Piquionne (20') and Pascal Feindouno (27'), defeated visiting Nice 2-1.
