Matchday # 5 In UEFA Champions League Group Stage Action

Action continued in the group stage of the 2006-07 UEFA Champions League on Tuesday:

STAGE E:

At Bucharest, Romania:

Nicolae Dica scored the equalizer in the 69th minute to lift Steaua Bucharest to a 1-1 home draw with Dynamo Kiev and a berth in the third round of the UEFA Cup.

At Madrid:

Ruud van Nistelrooy's 83rd-minute leveler enable Real Madrid to gain a 2-2 home deadlock with Lyon. Nevertheless, both teams have advanced to the knockout stage, with the French club assuring themselves of finishing first in Group E.

At Moscow:

At London:

At Lens, France:

Mbo Mpenza scored his equalizer in the 48th minute to lift Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht to a 2-2 road draw against Lille, hurting the Mastiffs' hopes of advancing to the knockout stage, which is now out of reach for the Belgian club.

At Athens:

Julio Cesar's 32nd-minute tally lifted AEK Athens to a 1-0 home win over AC Milan. The victory moved the Greek side to second place in the Group H standings, while Rossoneri still advanced to the knockout stage.
