Despite trailing 1-0 at halftime, VfB Stuttgart, on second-half tallies from Thomas Hitzisperger (49') and Jeronimo Mario Barreto Claudemir da Silva (54'), defeated hosts Hannover 96 2-1 to move to the top of the Bundesliga standings.

At Aachen:

Thanks to Reiner Plassheinrich's 90th-minute equalizer, Alemania Aachen gained a 1-1 home stalemate with FC Nurnberg.
