The final week of Round of 16 play in the CAF Champions League commenced with four games on Saturday.
At Algiers, Algeria:
Youssef Sofiane (5'), Abdelmalek Mokdad (46'), and Brahim Bedbouda (PK-88') each scored a goal as MC Alger took game two of their two-game series 3-2 at home against Inter Luanda and won the series 4-3 on aggregate to advance to the group stage.
At Casablanca, Morocco:
In a series reduced to one game due to recent political unrest in Ivory Coast, Mohsine Moutouali's equalizer at 90 minutes carried Raja Casablanca to a 1-1 regulation draw with visiting ASEC Mimosas (Adama Bakayoko scoring at 57 minutes for the visitors). The Moroccan club won the penalty-kick shootout 5-4 to advance to the group stage.
At Rades, Tunisia:
In game two of their two-match series, Khaled Melliti scored at 71 minutes to deadlock the contest for Club Africain at 1-1 against Al-Hilal, whose goal had come at 18 minutes from Edward Sadomba. However, with the two-game set at 2-1 on aggregate in the visiting Sudanese club's favor, Club Africain fans invaded the pitch, causing the match to be abandoned. Al-Hilal advanced to the group stage.
At Garoua, Cameroon:
In a match that was postponed because four of their players took part in the African Youth Championship in South Africa playing for Cameroon, Cotonsport took the opening match of their two-game set 4-1 over visiting ES Setif of Algeria. Ingwa Ambrasse (12'), Bobango (53'), Moumi Gerad (70'), and Lansina Karim (86') each tallied for the hosts.
