At Southampton, England:
Guly Do Prado (26'), David Connolly (29'), and Alex Chamberlain (68') each scored a goal as Southampton locked up automatic promotion to the League Championship on Saturday with a 3-1 home win over Walsall. The Saints will join Brighton & Hove Albion in the second level of soccer in England next season and be joined by the winner of the League One promotion playoffs, with Huddersfield Town facing AFC Bournemouth in one two-game semifinal series and Peterborough United battling Milton Keynes Dons in the other semifinal. The semifinal survivors will square off at London's Wembley Stadium for the right to play in the League Championship next season.
In stark contrast, Dagenham & Redbridge, Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, and Swindon Town were all relegated to League Two.
