AFC Champions League

Three games were played in Qatar on Monday as the AFC Champions League's group stage resumed after a six-month absence.


GROUP A:


At Doha:


Marko Marin scored the only goal of the match as Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli defeated Iraq's Al-Shorta 1-0 and advanced to the knockout stage.


Group A Standings:


1.   x-Al-Ahli (GP: 2; GD: +2; PTS: 6)

2.      Esteghlal (GP: 2; GD: -1; PTS: 1)

3.      Al-Shorta (GP: 2; GD: -1; PTS: 1)

4.  w-Al-Wahda (GP: 0; GD: 0; PTS: 0)


 NOTES: Al-Wahda were unable to travel to Qatar to play the final four games of the group stage due to several team members testing positive for COVID-19.[20] They were considered to have withdrawn from the competition, and all previous matches played by Al-Wahda shall be considered "null and void" and will not be considered in determining the final group rankings; Esteghlal have the road goals advantage over Al-Shorta (1-0).




GROUP B:


Both games were played at Al Janoub Stadium, Al Wakrah, Qatar:


In the opener, Harib Abdalla Suhail scored the only goal of the match in the 75th minute as Shabab Al-Ahli (UAE) defeated Shahr Khodro (Iran) 1-0.


Game #2:


Hattan Bahebri scored the game winner at the death (90'+7) as Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) upended Pakhtakor (Uzbekistan) 2-1.


Group B Standings:


1. Al-Hilal (GP: 3; GD: +4; PTS: 9)

2. Pakhtakor (GP: 3; GD: +3; PTS: 6)

3. Shabab Al-Ahli (GP: 3; GD: -1; PTS: 3)
