At Seattle:
In the lone Thursday Major League Soccer contest, Raul Ruidiaz (12', 33') and Joevin Jones (20', 59') each scored twice as the Seattle Sounders set an MLS record by scoring five goals in the first 33 minutes en route to a 7-1 frontier-styled fist-beating of the visiting San Jose Earthquakes.
The victory put the Sounders atop the Western Conference standings.
