UEFA Nations League: Clockwork Orange, Austria, Czech Republic Net Friday Wins

Group-stage play in the UEFA Nations League continued on Friday with eight games.

LEAGUE A:

Group One:

At Florence, Italy:

Stefano Sensi's equalizer in the 67th minute enabled Italy to gain a 1-1 home draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Edin Dzeko scored for the Dragons at 57 minutes. 

At Amsterdam, Netherlands:

Steven Bergwijn scored the only goal of the match in the 61st minute as the Netherlands defeated visiting Poland 1-0.

Group One Standings:

1. Netherlands (GP: 1; GD: +1; PTS: 3)
2. Bosnia and Herzegovina (GP: 1; GD: 0; PTS: 1)
3. Italy (GP: 1; GD: 0; PTS: 1)

At Oslo, Norway:

Marcel Sabitzer converted a penalty kick in the 54th minute for the winning goal as Austria knocked off Norway 2-1 on the road. 

At Bucharest, Romania:

Gavin Whyte's equalizer in the 86th minute enabled Northern Ireland to gain a 1-1 road draw with Romania.

George Puscas scored for the hosts in the 25th minute.

Group One Standings:

1. Austria (GP: 1; GD: +1; PTS: 3)
2. Northern Ireland (GP: 1; GD: 0; PTS: 1)
3. Romania (GP: 1; GD: 0; PTS: 1)
4. Norway (GP: 1; GD: -1; PTS: 0)

NOTE:  Northern Ireland gained a 1-1 road draw with Norway on Friday.



Group Two:

At Glasgow, Scotland:

Eran Zahavi's equalizer in the 73rd minute lifted Israel to a 1-1 road draw with Scotland.

Ryan Christie scored in the 45th minute via a successful penalty kick for the hosts.

At Bratislava, Slovakia:

Borek Dockal's converted penalty kick in the 53rd minute proved to be the game winner as the Czech Republic defeated Slovakia 3-1 on the road.

2. Israel (GP: 1; GD: 0; PTS: 1)
3. Scotland (GP: 1; GD: 0; PTS: 1)

LEAGUE C:

Group Four:

At Vilnius, Lithuania:

Baktiyar Zaynutdinov (4') and Islambek Kuat (86') produced the goals that lifted visiting Kazakhstan past Lithuania 2-0.

At Minsk, Belarus:

Sokol Cikalleshi (23') and Keidi Bare (78') each scored once as Albania blanked Belarus 2-0 on the road.
