At La Paz, Bolivia:

Gabriel Menino scored the game winner in the 60th minute as Palmeiras defeated Club Bolivar 2-1 on the road.

GROUP E:

At Porto Alegre, Brazil:

Abel Hernandez (1', 32') and Gabriel Boschilia (19', 90') each scored twice as Internacional held off visiting America de Cali 4-3.

At Santiago, Chile:

Fernando Zampedri (44') and Cesar Pinares (45'+1) each scored a goal late in the first half as Universidad Catolica defeated visiting Gremio 2-0.

Alexis Blanco scored the game winner at 54 minutes as Caracas FC knocked off Independiente Medellin 3-2 on the road.
