Club Guarani and visiting Palmeiras (Brazil) battled to a 0-0 stalemate.

Fernando Zampedri's equalizer in the 34th minute lifted Universidad Catolica to a 1-1 road draw with America de Cali.

Duvan Vergana scored for the hosts in the fourth minute.

At Porto Alegre, Brazil:

Pepe scored the game's lone goal in the 74th minute as Gremio defeated crosstown rivals Internacional 1-0 on the road.
