UEFA Nations League Monday: Wins For Azzurri, Poland, Romania, Scotland

Group-stage play in the UEFA Nations League continued on Monday with eight games.


LEAGUE A:


Group One:


At Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina:


Kamil Grosicki scored the winning goal in the 67th minute as Poland knocked off Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-1 on the road.


At Amsterdam, Netherlands:


Nicolo Barella's goal (45'+1) carried Italy past the Netherlands 1-0 on the road.


Group One Standings:


1. Italy (GP: 2; GD: +1; PTS: 4)

2. Netherlands (GP: 2; GD: 0; PTS: 3)

3. Poland (GP: 2; GD: 0; PTS: 3)

4. Bosnia and Herzegovina (GP: 2; GD: -1; PTS: 1)


NOTE:  The Netherlands took all three points by defeating Poland 1-0 at home on September 4.




LEAGUE B:


Group One:


At Klagenfurt, Austria:


Alexandru Maxim scored the winning goal in the 70th minute as Romania defeated Austria 3-2 on the road.


At Belfast, Northern Ireland:


Erling Haarland (7', 58') and Alexander Sorloth (19', 47') each scored twice (once in each half) as Norway demolished hosts Northern Ireland 5-1.

2. Austria (GP: 2; GD: 0; PTS: 3)

3. Norway (GP: 2; GD: +3; PTS: 3)

At Olomouc, Czech Republic:


Ryan Christie scored the winning goal in the 52nd minute with his successfully-converted penalty kick as Scotland knocked off the Czech Republic 2-1 on the road.


At Netanya, Israel:


Ilay Elmkies' stoppage-time equalizer (90'+1) lifted Israel to a 1-1 home draw with Slovakia.


Michal Duris scored for the guests at 14 minutes.

Donatas Kazlauskas scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute as Lithuania defeated Albania 1-0 on the road.
