UEFA Nations League Tuesday: Wins For France, Portugal, Belgium, Liechtenstein

Action in the UEFA Nations League continued on Tuesday with nine games. 


LEAGUE A:


Group Two:


At Brussels, Belgium:


Michy Batshuayi scored twice (17', 69') as Belgium demolished visiting Iceland 4-1.


At Copenhagen, Denmark:


Denmark and visiting England battled to a 0-0 stalemate.


Group Two Standings:


1. Belgium (GP: 2; GD: +6; PTS: 6)

2. England (GP: 2; GD: +1; PTS: 4)

3. Denmark (GP: 2; GD: -2; PTS: 1)

4. Iceland (GP: 2; GD: -5; PTS: 0)




Group Three:


At Saint-Denis, France:


Dayot Upamecano scored the winning goal in the 65th minute as France doubled up visiting Croatia 4-2 in a rematch of the 2018 World Cup Final that the French won.


At Solna, Sweden:


Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice (45'+1, 72') as Portugal blanked Sweden 2-0 on the road.

2. France (GP: 2; GD: +3; PTS: 6)

LEAGUE C:


Group One:


At Nicosia, Cyprus:


Maksim Medvedev scored the only goal of the match in the 29th minute as Azerbaijan knocked off Cyprus 1-0 on the road.


At Luxembourg City, Luxembourg:


Fatos Beciraj converted a penalty kick at the death (90'+3) for the winning goal as Montenegro defeated Luxembourg 1-0 on the road.

2. Luxembourg (GP: 2; GD: 0; PTS: 3)

3. Azerbaijan (GP: 2; GD: 0; PTS: 3)

NOTE:  Luxembourg defeated visiting Azerbaijan 2-1 on the road on September 5, thus gaining all three points.




Group Two:


At Yerevan, Armenia:


Aleksandre Karapetian (43') and Wbeymar Mosquera (65') each scored once as Armenia blanked visiting Estonia 2-0.


At Tbilisi, Georgia:


Stefan Ristovski's equalizer in the 33rd minute lifted visiting North Macedonia to a 1-1 draw with Georgia.


Tornike Okriashvili converted a penalty kick in the 13th minute for the Crusaders' goal.


Group Two Standings:


1. North Macedonia (GP: 2; GD: +1; PTS; 4)

2. Georgia (GP: 2; GD: +1; PTS: 4)

3. Armenia (GP: 2; GD: +1; PTS: 3)

4. Estonia (GP: 2; GD: -3; PTS: 0)


NOTE:  North Macedonia has scored more road goals than Georgia (1-0) as they gained that 1-1 road draw with the Crusaders on Thursday.




LEAGUE D:


Group Two:


At Rome (due to COVID-19 concerns in San Marino):


Nicolas Hasler (PK-3') and Yanik Frick (14') each scored a goal in the opening quarter-hour as Liechtenstein blanked San Marino 2-0.
