The semifinal round of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship concluded Wednesday with two games.
At Toronto:
Alan Gordon scored the only goal of the match at 7 minutes as Toronto FC blanked visiting FC Edmonton (NASL) 1-0 in game two to win their two-match series 4-0 on aggregate.
At Vancouver, British Columbia:
After Ali Gerba's successful penalty kick at 83 minutes enabled the visiting Montreal Impact to take game two 1-0 and square their two-match series 1-1 on aggregate, forcing the series into overtime, Mouloud Akloul scored the series-winner at 113 minutes, enabling the Vancouver Whitecaps to take the series 2-1 on aggregate and advance to the two-match final.
The final will open at Vancouver on May 18 with the return match in Toronto on May 25. The winner will take part in the preliminary round for a berth in the group stage of next season's CONCACAF Champions League.
