Mexican Clausura Playoffs: Striped Gang and Morelia Take Series Openers

The two remaining two-match series in the quarterfinal round of the Mexican Primera Division Clausura Playoffs commenced on Thursday.


At Monterrey, Mexico:


Osvaldo Martinez (10'), Walter Ayovi (21'), and Humberto Suazo (47') each tallied once as Monterrey took the opening game of their two-match series with UNAM Pumas 3-1 at home.


At Santiago de Queretaro, Mexico:


Manuel Perez (18') and Rafael Marquez Lugo (62') delivered the goals as Monarcas Morelia picked up the lone road victory of the four game ones, 2-1 over Club America.
