OFC Champions League: Magenta Win Group C, Advance To Semifinals; Tefana Still Alive For Wild-Card Berth

The third and final cycle of OFC Champions League group-stage games commenced on Friday with two Group C contests taking place at QBE Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand.

In the opener, Alvin Tehau scored twice (31', 45') as AS Tefana destroyed Vailima Kiwi 7-0 to keep their chances of advancing as the second-placed club with the best record alive.

In the nightcap, Pierrot Jelewed (21'), Bill Nicholls (39'), and Jeremy Dokunego (58') each scored a goal as AS Magenta locked up the Group C title and a berth in the semifinal round with a 3-0 domination of Nadi FC.

1. AS Magenta (GP: 3; GD: +7; PTS: 9)
2. AS Tefana (GP: 3; GD: +10; PTS: 6)
3. Nadi FC (GP: 3; GD: -7; PTS: 3)
4. Vailima Kiwi FC (GP: 3; GD: -10; PTS: 0)

AS Magenta, by finishing atop Group C, advanced to the semifinal round while AS Tefana remained alive for the wild-card berth, awarded to the second-placed club with the best record.
