Shkelzen Gashi scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute as the Colorado Rapids knocked off Sporting Kansas City 2-1 on the road.
At San Jose, California:
Fatai Alashe (40') and Chris Wondolowski (55') delivered the goals that propelled the San Jose Earthquakes to a 2-0 home win over the New York Red Bulls.
At Portland, Oregon:
Michael Barrios (4'), Fabian Castillo (26'), and Tesho Akindele (29') each scored a first-half goal as FC Dallas held off the hosts Portland Timbers 3-1.
