Arturo Vidal (that's him celebrating here) scored the only goal of the match in the second minute as Bayern Munich defeated visiting SL Benfica 1-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.

At Barcelona:
Luis Suarez scored twice (63', 74', that's him celebrating with his right arm upraised after his second goal) as Barcelona came from behind to upend visiting Atletico Madrid 2-1 in their series opener. Fernando Torres, who would later be ejected by way of collecting two yellow cards (which equal one red card), scored for the Mattress Makers in the 25th minute.
