MLS: Sounders, Timbers, Galaxy Bag 1-0 Wednesday Wins

Three Major League Soccer matches were contested on Wednesday.

At Seattle:

Marco Pappa Smurfed the only goal of the match in the 16th minute as the Seattle Sounders defeated the visiting Colorado Rapids 1-0 move into not only the top spot in the Western Conference but first place in the Supporters' Shield race as well.

At Portland, Oregon:

Maximiliano Urruti scored the only goal of the match in the fifth minute as the Portland Timbers defeated visiting DC United 1-0.

At Carson, California:

Juninho successfully converted a penalty kick in the seventh minute as the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated visiting Real Salt Lake 1-0.
