Barca Alone On Top----For Now

Four games were contested on Saturday in Spain's Premiera Division:

At Barcelona:

Leo Messi (45') and Samuel Eto'o (51') provided the scoring for Barcelona as the defending league champs held off visiting Deportivo La Coruna 2-1.

At Valencia:

Thanks to goals courtesy of David Villa (12'), Vicente Rodriguez (26'), and Miguel Angulo (59'), homestanding Valencia climbed up to third place in the La Liga standings following their 3-2 win over Espanyol.

At San Sebastian:

Jon Ansotegui provided the lone goal of the match (38') to lift Real Sociedad to a 1-0 home win over Levante and climb out of the La Liga basement.

At Seville:

In a match played at a neutral site because of the Real Betis three-home-match ban stemming from the actions of a few hooligans at a home Copa Del Ray match, The Verdiblancos, thanks to Juanito's 90th-minute equalizer, gained a 3-3 draw with Villarreal.
