Bayern Beats Hertha In Berlin; Werder Leapfrogs Stuttgart Into Second

Six games were played in the German Bundesliga on Saturday:

At Berlin:

Bayern Munich
, powered by tallies from Hasan Salihamidzic (30'), Luka Podolski (31'), and Roy Makaay (68'), held off Hertha Berlin for a 3-2 road win to lift them up to fourth place in the Bundesliga standings, six points in back of front-running FC Schalke 04.

At Bremen:

Aaron Hunt's hat trick (25', 72', 76') proved to be all the scoring as Werder Bremen took over second place in the Bundesliga standings (three points in back of FC Schalke 04) following their 3-0 home whitewashing of VfL Bochum, who have fallen back into the relegation zone.

At Leverkusen:

Bayer Leverkusen
, powered by goals courtesy of Andriy Voronin (19'), Paul Freier (22'), and Juan (61'), held off visiting VfB Stuttgart 3-1.

At Wolfsburg:

Cedric Makiadi's tally at 65 minutes lifted VfL Wolfsburg to a 1-0 home win over basement-dwelling Borussia Mochengladbach.

At Bielefeld:

Jorg Bohme scored the game winner at 86 minutes to lift Arminia Bielefeld out of the relegation zone with their 3-2 home win over fifth-place FC Nurnberg.

At Frankfurt:

Eintracht Frankfurt climbed out of the Bundesliga's relegation zone, thanks to their 2-0 home shutout over Hannover 96. Naohiro Takahara (58') and Michael Thurk (75') provided the goals for the Eagles.
