UEFA Champions League Round of 16 Play Concludes

Wednesday marked the final day of Round-of-16 play in the 2006-07 UEFA Champions League:

At Milan:

With no goals scored in 180 minutes of action over two games, AC Milan pulled out the series with an overtime goal to defeat visiting Celtic 1-0 on aggregate. Kaka, pictured here, scored the series' only goal in the third minute of overtime.

At London:

Coming off their 1-0 home win two weeks ago, PSV Eindhoven, by drawing 1-1 with Arsenal in game two on the Gunners' pitch, advanced to the quarterfinals by winning the series on aggregate, 2-1. Alex , pictured here, scored the series winner at 83 minutes. Photo © Getty Images, 2007

At Manchester, England:

Henrik Larsson, pictured here

At Munich:

Roy Maakay scored 11 seconds into Bayern Munich's home rematch with Real Madrid. It was the fastest goal in Champions League history. Lucio, pictured here, added another goal at 66 minu
tes to clinch the series for the Bundesliga champs. Despite losing the opener at Madrid two weeks ago, Bayern did score two away goals which came in handy, as the Bavarians won the return match 2-1 at home, and won the series because they doubled the Galaticos' away goal total 2-1, even though the series was deadlocked at four goals apiece.
