Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice (65', 73') as league-leading Inter Milan remained unbeaten following their 2-1 home win over Ascoli. The defeat dropped The Woodpecker into the Serie A basement.
At Milan:
AC Milan climbed to fifth place in the standings, thanks to their 1-0 home win over Atalanta. Massimo Ambrosini provided the game' only goal (40').
At Rome:
With goals from Goran Pandev (8'), Tommaso Rocchi (27'), and Christian Manfredini (74'), Lazio took over third place in the standings with their convincing 3-1 home win over Empoli (who dropped to sixth).
At Rimini:
In a match that was scoreless at halftime, Reggina erupted for four goals (from four different players) to hammer exiled Catania Calcio 4-1. The win lifted the Amorontos out of the relegation zone. The Elephants played this game , originally set for their home grounds (Angelo Massimino Stadium in Catania), at a neutral site, behind closed doors.
At Florence:
Second place AS Roma fell 18 points behind Inter Milan following their 0-0 road deadlock with Fiorentina.
At Messina:
Thanks to goals courtesy of Roberto Muzzi (26'), Alessandro Rosina (PK-77'), and Roberto Stellone (85'), Torino moved further away from the drop zone with their 3-0 whitewashing on the road at the expense of relegation-threatened Messina.
At Cagliari:
Chievo Verona defeated homestanding Cagliari Calcio 2-0, thanks to goals from Matteo Brighi (50') and Erjon Bogdani (55')
At Parma:
Andrea Gassbaroni's goal at 19 minutes held up as relegation zone residents Parma picked up a 1-0 home win over AC Siena.
At Udine:
Udinese blasted visiting Livorno 4-0, with Antonio Di Natale scoring twice (34', 69').
