Emmanuel Adebayor's equalizer (66', he's pictured here celebrating afterwards) enabled Arsenal to gain a 1-1 road draw in the opening match of their two-game series with Villarreal. Marcos Senna scored at 10 minutes for the Yellow Submarine.
At Manchester, England:
Cristian Rodriguez (4') and Mariano (89', here pictured, beating Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar) provided the goalpower that enabled FC Porto to gain a 2-2 road draw against defending champions Manchester United. Wayne Rooney (15') and Carlos Tevez (85') scored for the Red Devils.
