More Sunday Action From Africa

Four games were played Sunday as the opening weekend of the second round of the CAF Champions League came to a close.

At Luanda, Angola:

Bena's early double (7', 10') and Mano's 60th-minute tally powered Primeiro de Agosto to a 3-1 home win over Sudan's Al-Halil in game one of their two-match series.

At Owerri, Nigeria:

Thanks to goals from Stanley Okoro (21') and Nwana (60'), Heartland FC edged visiting Cotonsport 2-1 in game one. The visiting Camerounian club did get what might end up being a critical away goal from Ahmadou Ngomna (56').

At Lubumbashi, DRC:

Dioko Kaluyituka's successful penalty kick (20') provided the only goal of game one as TP Mazembe defeated visiting Ittihad Khemisset 1-0.

At Abdijan, Ivory Coast:

Pacome Kouassi's successful penalty kick at 49 minutes provided all the scoring in game one as ASEC Mimosas blanked visiting Monomotapa United FC 1-0.
