Sao Paolo Locks Up Berth In Round of 16; Boca One Point Away From Advancing

Group stage play in the Copa Libertadores continued Thursday.

Group One:

At Quito, Ecuador:

Claudio Bieler's own goal (90'+1) enabled Colo-Colo to gain a 1-1 road draw against LDU Quito. Jairo Campos scored at 48 minutes for the defending continental club champs.

Group Two:

At Buenos Aires, Argentina:

Fueled by goals from Martin Palermo (34') and Rodirigo Palacio (36'), Boca Juniors blanked visiting Guarani 2-0, placing the hosts within one point of clinching a spot in the knockout stage of the tournament, while all but officially eliminating the Paraguayan club from contention.
