AFC Champions League: Al-Gharafa, Al-Shabab, Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, Suwon Bluewings Advance To Quarterfinals

The knockout stage of the AFC Champions League commenced on Tuesday with the start of Round of 16 play as four games were played.  All are one-legged ties.

WEST ASIA:

At Doha, Qatar:

Clemerson de Araujo Soares scored the only goal of the match on his successful penalty kick at 86 minutes as Al-Gharafa took out Pakhtakor Tashkent 1-0 at home.

At Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

Faisal Bin Sultan (21'), Tariq Al-Taib (47'), and Waleed Al Jeizani (88') each tallied once as Al-Shabab defeated Esteghlal FC 3-2 at home. 

EAST ASIA:

At Seongnam, South Korea:

Mauricio Molina scored twice (PK-74', 90') as Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma broke open what had been a scoreless deadlock through the first 73 minutes and ended up overpowering visiting Gamba Osaka 3-0.

At Suwon, South Korea:

Jose Roberto Rodrigues Moto scored both goals (27', 86') as Suwon Samsung Bluewings blanked visiting Beijing Guoan 2-0.
