Five clubs advanced to the group stage as the second round of the CAF Champions League concluded on Sunday.
At Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo:
TP Mazembe blanked visiting Djoliba 3-0 in game two of their two-match set to win the series 4-0 on aggregate. Alain Kaluyituka Dioko doubled (PK-27', 60') for the defending champions.
At Ismalia, Egypt:
Ismaily, thanks to goals from Ahmed Khairy (50'), Mohamed Soliman Ali (58'), and Ahmed Samir Farag (67'), took game two at home 3-1 over Al-Hilal and took out the Sudanese club 4-1 on aggregate.
At Luanda, Angola:
Despite losing game two 2-1 on the road, Algeria's JS Kabylie won their two-game series with Atletico Petroleos Luanda 3-2 on aggregate. Mohamed Amine Aoudia scored what turned out to be the series winner at 54 minutes for the guests.
At Cairo, Egypt:
Al-Ahly overturned their 2-0 road defeat from game one and blanked visiting Ittihad 3-0 in game two and won the two-match set 3-2 on aggregate. Emad Moteab (60'), Mohamed Fadl (74'), and Shehab El-Din Ahmed (90'+4) all scored in the second half for the hosts.
At Owerri, Nigeria:
Emeka Nwanna (39'), John Owoeri (70'), and Bello Musa Kofamata (75') each tallied once as Heartland FC took out visiting Supersport United 3-1 in game two and won their two-game series 4-2 on aggregate.
