League Championship Playoffs: Bluebirds Win Tense Shootout To Reach Final

At Cardiff, Wales:

After Leicester City took game two of their League Championship promotion playoff two-match set with Cardiff City 3-2 on the road (Matt Fryatt [25'], Mark Hudson [OG-36], and Andy King [49']), the two-match series endured thirty scoreless minutes of overtime before the homestanding Bluebirds, with successful conversions by Michael Chopra, Ross McCormack, Joe Ledley, and Mark Kennedy, won the penalty-kick shootout 4-3 to set up the May 22 final against Blackpool at Wembley Stadium with the winner gaining promotion to the Premier League.  The Bluebirds have not played in the top flight since 1962.
