Goals from Keith Southern (26') and Charlie Adam (PK-57') carried Blackpool to a 2-1 home win over Nottingham Forest in the opening contest of a two-match semifinal series in the playoffs for promotion from the League Championship to the English Premier League on Saturday. Chris Cohen scored what might still be a precious away goal from Forest at 13 minutes. The return match will be played on Tuesday at Nottingham, England.
