Copa Libertadores: Universidad de Chile, Libertad, Internacional Reach Elite Eight

The Round of 16 in the Copa Libertadores concluded with three games on Thursday.

At Santiago, Chile:

Eduardo Vargas (62') and Felipe Seymour (90') provided the goalpower that carried Universidad de Chile to a 2-2 home draw with Alianza Lima in game two of their two-match series, enabling the hosts to win their series four points to one.

At Asuncion, Paraguay:

Roberto Gamarra scored twice in the second half (PK-71', 89') as Club Libertad came from behind to defeat visiting Once Caldas 2-1 in game two, enabling the Paraguayan club to take the two-game set, four points to one.

At Porto Alegre, Brazil:

Alecsandro (41') and Walter (57') each tallied once as Internacional took game two at home versus Banfield 2-0.  With the series deadlocked at three points apiece, with each team winning at home, the Brazilian club advanced to the quarterfinal round on the away goals rule, having scored the only road goal of the series last week in Argentina.
